A lot of the CO2 in the atmosphere is the result of burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are a nice way of saying dinosaurs and plants that have rotted. If I had a time machine then I would go back in time and nuke those dinosaurs and burn down the forests and then we wouldn’t have this greenhouse gas problem and all these wars about oil. Most people don’t realize that they are putting rotten dinosaurs into their gas tanks every week? It makes me sick to think about that. If I had a time machine then I would probably get the 25 million dollar prize for my idea. - Mandy science wizardess
There are billions and trillions of tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. This has the bad effect of making the sky look grayish. But in class one student said that if we cleaned that up then we could get blinded by the light of the moon and stars at night. We would all have to wear special glasses to look at the stars. So I am thinking that some big companies that make glasses are pushing the government to clean up the environment. I think glasses companies would be more productive if they made glasses that could emit rays to zap CO2 particles. - Gas gas gas
Today on the radio they talked about helping the environment by hanging the wash outside instead of using an energy wasting dryer. The dryer apparently adds to the global warming problem because it’s hot. Anyway I tried that and the only problem is that my wash turned all black from the pollution caused by the nearby coal factory. So now what? Is there some government compensation for my ruined clothes? Maybe that’s the government’s idea for cleaning the environment by using my clothes to attract the soot. In that case I should get a good citizen service award preferably in cash. - William P.
I am wondering if this $25 million dollar prize is a promotional joke or real? How are they going to measure if the atmosphere is cleaner? Would they measure it in the USA or in China or where? They talk about a trillion tons of CO2 gas in the atmosphere. Did anyone actually weigh the smoke coming out of a factory to figure that out? To me it is as ridiculous trying to measure the fact that the ocean rose by a few inches due to global warming. - Accuracy man!
I have a friend who is really smart in math. He said he found the equation for cleaning up greenhouse gas. I think he said the equation was: C = G + T. He said C stands for cleanup, G for greenhouse gas and the T is for the time it takes to clean it up. I never would have thought of that because I am not very smart in math. If my friend is right then maybe that’s the answer. - Wendy H. |
