How would you solve the greenhouse gas problem?
Fire extinguishers use CO2 and that's a really good idea. My idea is to build a huge fire extinguisher, fill it with all the CO2 we can and squirt it at the sun. That would have the effect of putting out the fire on the sun a bit, but not completely or else we would all have to wear thick winter coats - .Arvid Weinstocker, Littlemaid WI
Hello as minister for environmental planning in China I think I should get prize for global warming. For years we have balanced the amount of sewage we dump into the oceans with the number of new coal factories produced. More coal factories are balanced by dumping more sewage into the ocean. As a previous poster said, dumping sewage into the ocean will balance out the amount of Co2 dumped into the atmosphere. I also like to propose the idea of sewage credits as opposed to carbon credits. - Wen Jao Bing
In case someone thinks the ideas on this website are silly, according to the March 19th, 2007 CNN news: Scientists are exploring global warming solutions that sound wholly far-fetched, including giant artificial "trees" to filter carbon dioxide out of the air, a bizarre "solar shade" created by a trillion flying saucers that lower Earth's temperature, and a scheme that mimics a volcano by spewing light-reflecting sulfates high in the sky. - Ray Van Raamsdonk
As a long time designer and producer of very high powered guns, I suggest that our long range space cannon could be used for more peaceful purposes. Having heard that the sun is warming up and causing global warming on Earth and Mars, my suggestion is that we improve the firing range dramatically and shoot large chunks of arctic ice at the sun. This will solve the problem of our ice melting and making the oceans rise dozens of feet. We will get rid of the ice, and the sun will also cool down. - Bull Winchester, CT
The problem of oceans rising is a non-issue if my suggestion is adopted. Since oil that is removed from under the oceans is obviously replaced with ocean water, as we pump out oil, the water replaces it. So the more we pump, the lower the ocean gets (look what happened to the ground in Texas). As we use the oil, the Earth warms up, so we just need to build more gas-powered snow machines in the Arctic. I suggest we drill a lot more oil from under the oceans to keep this natural cycle going! - Halli Burton
