One way to clean up the atmosphere is to get the ocean to take up more CO2? A group of scientists at Global Warming Institute in Victoria, British Columbia. have proposed an innovative solution by thinking about the problem in reverse. Instead of bringing the CO2 down to the ocean they propose to bring the ocean to the CO2. They estimate that by exploding a sufficient number of nuclear bombs in the ocean, vast amount water will be sent into the atmosphere with the result that water molecules attach to CO2 molecules thus cleaning the air. – Reuters News
I think the previous posters solution may have some merit. It really shows how "out of the box thinking" can provide solutions to many difficult problems. Not only will this solution clean up the atmosphere but at the same time we make use of large stockpiles of nuclear arsenal that are left over from the cold war between Russia and the USA. It is also a good way for any nation to demonstrate it’s peaceful use of nuclear bombs. - Lord Jones-Kyle
I have a very simple solution. I think every car should be fitted with a large air filter. You can imagine a cylinder on the roof of your car inside of which are various air filters. Then the more people drive, the more air that’s filtered. If the cylinder has a cross section of one square meter then at a speed of 60 kilometers an hour you could filter 60,000 cubic meters of air in just one hour. Imagine if every car had to have these filters. That’s a lot of air cleaning going on. Also the faster people drive, the quicker the air would get cleaned. - Janelle W.
Our city council in White Rock, BC has planned a family event to raise money for cleaning the environment. This event will feature a global warming parade, a best global warming costume, the crowning of Miss Global Warming, special baked goods and global warming games for the whole family to enjoy. Our council hopes to raise $10,000. - W.C. Cooper
Any solution for environmental cleanup will cause other problems. If we remove the pollution in the atmosphere then where do we put it, in a hole? If you dig a hole then where do you put that dirt? If you put that dirt into a Canyon then where do you put all the plants and animals from that canyon? You see nature is balanced. You mess with one part and some other part gets messed up. So just leave it alone. - Stephanie |
